Real Wireless CTO, Simon Fletcher, will play a key role as a member of its Advisory Board. UK testbed for connected carsReal Wireless has announced that it will be a key partner in AutoAir, one of the most ambitious, and potentially most important, projects in the development of 5G-supported transportation networks in the UK. Real Wireless is part of a consortium chosen by the UK’s Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to deliver a small cell 5G testbed for connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs). AutoAir is one of six UK-wide testbeds aiming to test 5G across a range of applications as part of the UK’s £25 million 5G digital strategy. Read more >>
5G capabilities still being definedA recent SPEED-5G workshop at BT Centre in London focused on dynamic spectrum access techniques, as part of a project tackling some of the more complex aspects of 5G. Real Wireless expert Kostas Konstantinou was at the event and ponders the potential of initiatives like 5G-MiEdge to forge new and innovative architectures and whether or not they have a role to play in 5G standardisation.
